Perlis Future Charismatic Leaders (PFCL)
2020 – 2021
A 16-month state-driven leadership development programme implemented in collaboration with JPN Perlis officers to improve student literacy and SPM passing rates in schools from across the state of Perlis.
Key outcomes
- 73% of illiterate students improved their reading proficiency by two reading levels in 2020
- 96% of vulnerable students passed Bahasa Melayu in 2020 national examination
- 79% of vulnerable students passed Sejarah in their national examination in 2020

About PFCL
PCFL was an initiative designed to address learning loss during the Covid-19 pandemic by providing leadership development to school officials and teachers to implement literacy interventions for student learning in 6 primary schools and 3 secondary schools.
