Kuala Lumpur, 18 MARCH 2023 – CikguHub, the first teacher development subscription service of its kind in Malaysia, launched today, providing teachers a one-stop-’edutainment’ platform for teachers to grow, learn, and connect. CikguHub is an initiative by Edvolution, a social enterprise from Penang that aims to develop and mobilise transformative leaders, competent educators and effective community builders to bring about lasting improvement to Malaysia’s education system.
The concept of CikguHub was born from a vision to transform how Malaysian teachers develop themselves professionally, driven by the realisation that teaching quality often suffers due to the lack of access to high-quality continuous professional development (CPD) opportunities. “CikguHub was created to meet this need – as an affordable, accessible, and high-quality e-learning platform for teachers to upskill themselves,” explained Melissa Tanya Gomes, CEO and Co-founder of Edvolution.
CikguHub offers teachers access to a wide range of resources, including CikguStrategy (teaching strategy and classroom management videos), CikguSpeaks (a podcast by teachers for teachers) and CikguLearns (live online workshops) . In addition, activity templates are available for teachers to use in their classrooms, making CikguHub a comprehensive professional development and resource platform.
The platform is designed to be both affordable and flexible. For just RM50 a month, teachers can have access to all of CikguHub’s resources and learn at their own pace, fitting it into their busy schedules.
“Our goal is to transform continuous professional development for teachers. This is what we want to achieve with CikguHub,” said Melissa during the platform’s official launch at GMBB, Kuala Lumpur.
CikguHub’s edutainment approach combines education and entertainment to create an interactive, personalised, practical, and fun learning environment for teachers.
The courses are delivered by industry practitioners who have extensive knowledge and experience in education, ensuring that the learners are getting real-world insights from experts in the field.
Moreover, CikguHub also provides networking opportunities for its learners. Throughout the course, learners will belong to a community of learners, have the opportunity to conduct their own sessions, get their articles published on CikguHub’s social media platforms, and get access to the industry’s key stakeholders.
